Advancing Aluminium Recycling as a Business Opportunity: IAI at Climate Week NYC 2026
Meta Description: The International Aluminium Institute co-hosts the Advancing Aluminium Recycling event at Climate Week NYC 2026 with GBCCA. The session reframes aluminium recycling as a commercial opportunity, covering carbon footprint methodology, global recycling rates and circular economy investment.
The International Aluminium Institute (IAI) will participate in Climate Week NYC 2026 as a co-host of Advancing Aluminium Recycling as a Business Opportunity, an event convened by the Global Beverage Can Circularity Alliance (GBCCA). Taking place during one of the year’s flagship climate action gatherings, the session reframes aluminium recycling not just as an environmental imperative, but as a measurable commercial driver of growth, innovation and cross-sector industry competitiveness.
Event Overview
The event takes place 22 September 2026, from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm ET at 730 Third Avenue, Second Floor, New York City. It marks the third edition of the series, building on prior years’ focus: 2024 outlined the environmental benefits of aluminium beverage can recycling, 2025 explored the technologies enabling greater circularity, and 2026 centres on recycling as a strategic and economic opportunity, aligned with Climate Week NYC’s theme of energy, impact and action.
The technical session is hosted by Marlen Bertram, IAI’s Director of Scenarios and Forecasts.
