Bauxite-Aluminum Supply Chain Expansion in Vietnam’s Lam Dong Province: Alumina Output Reaches 1 Million Tons
According to reports on October 8, Vietnam’s Lam Dong province is expanding its bauxite-to-aluminum production chain. Alumina output for the first nine months of 2026 is estimated at approximately 1 million tons—a year-on-year increase of 1.7%—with third-quarter production reaching about 380,000 tons, up 9.3%. On July 26, the first aluminum ingot was produced at the Nhan Co Industrial Park in Nhan Co Commune, marking a shift in the bauxite-aluminum value chain from alumina production to aluminum metal production; aluminum ingot output for the third quarter is estimated at 20,551 tons, with 14,540 tons produced in September alone.
