LME Grants Full Recognition to ASI Performance Standard V3
ASI is pleased to announce that the ASI Performance Standard V3 has received full recognition under the London Metal Exchange (LME) Responsible Sourcing framework; both the standard and its implementation processes fully meet the LME’s "Track A" assessment requirements. TDi Sustainability, an LME-approved assessor, conducted a conformity assessment of the ASI Performance Standard against the OECD *Due Diligence Guidance for Responsible Supply Chains of Minerals from Conflict-Affected and High-Risk Areas* for the 2021–2026 period. This assessment aimed to determine the degree of alignment between the ASI Performance Standard and the OECD Guidance, and whether the standard could be recognized by the LME as an acceptable due diligence framework for aluminum brands listed on the exchange. The assessment covered two main areas: the alignment of the ASI Performance Standard and related guidance documents with the OECD Guidance ("Policy and Standard"), and the effectiveness of ASI’s implementation of relevant requirements through its assurance, oversight, and audit processes ("Implementation"). Having previously secured conditional approval in 2022, ASI has now obtained full, unconditional approval following the completion of the implementation component of the OECD alignment assessment. Aluminum brands listed on the LME may now use ASI certification—obtained against the ASI Performance Standard V3—to demonstrate compliance with LME responsible sourcing requirements.
