Yamaha to Gradually Switch to Recycled Aluminum Alloy for DiASil Cylinders
According to reports on October 7, Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. will gradually replace conventional primary aluminum with recycled aluminum alloy in its proprietary all-aluminum DiASil cylinders, marking a shift toward the use of recycled materials in high-performance motorcycle components. Once the transition is completed across all products utilizing DiASil cylinders—targeted for 2030—Yamaha estimates it will reduce CO2 emissions by approximately 47,000 tons annually. The shift will begin with commuter motorcycle models manufactured in Indonesia, followed by a planned global rollout.
