Alba holds board meeting for the third quarter of 2026
Aluminium Bahrain (Alba) held its Q3 Board of Directors’ meeting on Tuesday 22 September 2026.
During the meeting, the Board reviewed key strategic, operational, commercial, and governance matters supporting the company's long-term goals.
Alba's Chairman of the Board, Khalid Al Rumaihi, said: “On behalf of our Board of Directors, I’d like to extend our sincere appreciation to His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain, for his recent visit to Alba and for recognising the outstanding contributions of our national workforce.
“His continued support inspires us to build on our successes and further contribute to the Kingdom of Bahrain's economic and industrial progress.”
Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa visited Alba on 22 September.
During the visit, he commended the dedication of Alba’s national workforce in maintaining production, safeguarding Alba’s competitive position within the global industrial landscape, and its continued contribution to international aluminium output despite the challenges posed by recent missile strikes in Bahrain.
He also welcomed Alba’s recent acquisition of Aluminium Dunkerque, highlighting that it will enhance the company’s capacity for sustainable growth.
Al Rumaihi said: “We are also encouraged by the progress made to date on the proposed acquisition of Aluminium Dunkerque.
“This transaction represents an important strategic step in Alba's growth journey, strengthening our international presence and supporting our ambition to build a global low-carbon aluminium platform.”
In addition, the Board reviewed and approved several governance and policy enhancements recommended by its committees, as well as its preliminary 2027 marketing plan.
Other matters considered during the meeting included corporate governance updates and the approval of the company's updated authorised signatory framework.
Chaired by Al Rumaihi, Alba’s Board of Directors comprises six directors appointed by Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company – Isa bin Khalid Al Khalifa, Rasha Sabkar, Marwa Al Saad, Omar Syed, and Riccardo Picca – one director appointed by Saudi Arabian Mining Company (Maaden) – Ahmed Al Shaikh – and three elected directors – Bruce Cox, Khalid Rowais, and Armando Martinez.
