India Expands Aluminium Winding‑Wire Capacity to 25,000 TPA To Meet Electrical OEM Demand
A leading Indian electrical conductor manufacturer has commissioned a new aluminium winding‑wire production facility in Bandapur, Rajasthan.
The project lifts total installed capacity for aluminium winding wires and strips to 25,000 tonnes per annum (TPA), an increase from 18,000 TPA recorded in early 2025.
Capacity expansion responds to fast‑growing domestic demand from transformer, motor, inverter and switchgear original equipment manufacturers. Across India’s electrical sector, aluminium is increasingly adopted as a cost‑effective alternative to copper for winding applications.
Higher output enables larger, committed supply volumes and stable delivery timelines for major national OEM projects, while maintaining consistent enamel quality and dimensional precision for electrical components.
The manufacturer ranks among India’s top producers of super‑enamelled aluminium winding wires and strips, operating multiple manufacturing sites across the country. Its broader portfolio also includes copper‑based products such as rods, bus bars and strips, alongside polycarbonate sheet production.
