Resumption of Novelis Aluminum Supply Boosts Ford F-150 Production
According to reports on October 5, the resumption of operations at Novelis’s aluminum facility in Oswego, New York, has restored the supply chain for Ford F-150 pickup truck production. Ford CEO Jim Farley stated that the automaker has fully recovered from the supplier disruption and has been using aluminum from the Novelis Oswego plant to manufacture F-150s for approximately four weeks. With the domestic aluminum supply from Oswego now restored, Ford expects F-150 production to reach its highest level of the year in October; while F-Series inventory remains below target levels, production is no longer hampered by aluminum supply disruptions.
